House notes
Toon Hall is a static website about famous cartoon characters. It is meant to be read in a browser with nothing more than HTML and CSS.
The lineup mixes silent-era pioneers, newspaper comics, American television, and a Japanese series that traveled the world. Together they show how a simple face can survive format changes: theater shorts, Saturday mornings, prime-time sitcoms, and manga pages.
Every portrait is drawn with CSS shapes — circles, borders, and a few shadows. They are original geometric tributes. They are not official character art, logos, or screenshots, and this site does not host studio images.
Each character page has a debut year, a studio or creator, and a short original history. The writing is cultural context, not a plot dump and not a copy of any episode script.
No build step, no JavaScript, no image files. Open index.html and walk the hall. If a font CDN is blocked, the layout still holds with system fallbacks.
